So last night right before we ended class, I asked if anyone had any weight loss stories to share. We had 2 ladies in class who have lost a couple of dress sizes since they started coming to Zumba class last October. I am so proud of them! I know first hand how hard it is. It took me a total of almost 3 years to lose 50 lbs and these ladies are just blowing it out of the water!
It is hard to get into shape. There is nothing easy about changing your lifestyle and trying to kick old habits. I am struggling with this right now. I gave up pop for Lent. I have never participated in Lent and decided that I needed to stop drinking it anyways so why not use this time to try and kick my bad habit. I pretty much only drank Diet Coke, but even still would have at least a can a day. In the first 2 weeks I have lost 3 lbs. I am not really trying to lose weight, I just try to stick to a healthy diet. What was interesting is that we drink diet pop with the idea that it will be a good substitute for drinking something with calories, but in my case it wasn't doing me any good anyways! So water, coffee, and tea it is.
I read an article today that linked any pop consumption in access to heart disease. Pretty crazy if you ask me!
